“Last week MrBeast made YouTube history with the release of his video reenacting the popular show Squid Game, bringing in 456 contestants to compete for a cash prize of $456,000. Within 24 hours, the video became the most watched non-music/trailer video on the platform, currently sitting at 122 million views.”

15 useful & non-obvious tips on how to run & market your newsletter.

A great Twitter thread on how to make your newsletter better.

One tip that I’m not taking advantage of yet is:

“SEO optimise your newsletter content before publishing it on your website.

Your newsletter issues become blogs on your website that can rank on Google & bring you consistent traffic.”

The Business of Professional Speaking with Jay Acunzo

“In this episode of Jay Talking, we talk about speaking, the differences between a keynote and a breakout, how to land gigs, how to prepare for gigs, and some actual next steps I could take if I wanted to become a keynote like my friend Jay Acunzo.”

Big Idea: Public speaking can be a lucrative revenue source for creators. A great example is Scott Scratten, who leveraged Twitter early on to build an audience, publish multiple books and build a million-dollar speaking business.

‘Buy the Constitution’ Aftermath: Everyone Very Mad, Confused, Losing Lots of Money

“ConstitutionDAO tried to buy the Constitution. Now it has a $40 million mess on its hands and entire refunds are being wiped out by high fees.”

“About half of all people who donated to ConstitutionDAO are now going to either lose basically everything they put into Ethereum network fees or will have to become a supporter of an organization that tried to buy the Constitution, failed, and now essentially has no purpose.”

This was a very interesting idea that got a lot of press. It can be hard to separate the hype from the opportunities in web3, but it is still a very interesting space to keep an eye on.

How much can you earn on TikTok?
How much can you earn on TikTok?

Zach King, an influencer with 66 million followers, recently earned $23 a day on average on TikTok.

20.4 million views over 7 days earned about $150. That is a CPM of less than $0.01. To put that in perspective, newsletters will typically earn a CPM between $25 to $50.

TikTok is definitely not an easy way to make a living.
