Hating On Remote Work Is So Hot Right Now

Hating On Remote Work Is So Hot Right Now

Stefan Palios of Remotely Inclined gives his take on two articles that have been widely shared over the last week.

  • Remote Work Is Killing the Hidden Trillion-Dollar Office Economy
  • Working from ‘anywhere’ is possible—but not sustainable

“Rents falling in major cities could result in a huge spike in small-time entrepreneurship: the cute cafes, shops, and restaurants that could never afford city rents. “

“Sure, cities might bring the diversity to you, but distributed and remote teams are possibly the best cross-section of global diversity available to the working world.”

Smart Entrepreneurs will find opportunities in both sides of each of the arguments.

60% of restaurants may permanently close, but that also makes it much less expensive to start a new restaurant now.

If companies become less innovative when they move away from creative hub cities, there will be advantages for the firms that go back to centers like Silicon Valley or New York faster.

    These are definitely interesting times.
