5 Analytics Tools to Track & Grow Your Business

5 Analytics Tools to Track & Grow Your Business

Here is a good overview of different analytics tools that might help in monitoring your business performance. It covers Baremetrics, Google Analytics, MixPanel, MetaBase and Databox.

I’ve never set up dashboards before to track key metrics, so this post was helpful in showing what is possible. I need to get better at tracking where new subscribers are coming from.

How to Outsource

How to Outsource

Here is a good guide from Ahrefs on how to outsource projects to less expensive virtual assistants. It is focused on SEO, but can be applied to all your outsourcing. It provides example SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and shows how to incorporate Trello into your workflow.

It’s important to systematize your work processes if you want to grow.

Business Templates – A System for Success

Lenny Rachitsky shares a large list of business and marketing related templates to help with strategy, marketing, vision, product launches, etc. in his newsletter. Having frameworks and templates like this can help you think and work in a more strategic and focused way. It’s worth browsing through some of the templates that interest you to see how other businesses start new projects.

He also links to the High Output Founder’s Library which has even more resources for every aspect of growing and managing your business.

Creating processes or SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and tracking KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are essential to help you grow your business. Regularly take time to document what you are doing so that you can hand off the work to others as you grow.

Business Systems with Rob Hanly

Business Systems with Rob Hanly

James Schramko of SuperFastBusiness has a great 3-part conversation with business consultant Rob Hanly. This is more for established businesses, but it’s worth a listen. They cover Rob’s comprehensive cheat sheet on how to run a successful business. (The cheat sheet is included on the link above.)

Rob’s work is to help business owners improve their operations and profitability. Businesses often get into trouble from not managing cash flow effectively or chasing the wrong goals.

“So you’ve got the right business model in terms of right customers, right product, you got product-market fit, you got the right partners, you know, that classic business model canvas, but you’re stuffing it up by spending too much on the wrong things and managing your cash flow poorly.”

Groove shares the 8 Autoresponder Emails that improved their conversions 250%

Most startups make up their business processes as they grow. There is value in studying the systems of successful companies.  This can give you a big headstart, over trying to figure it out on your own.

Here is a look at the main automated emails that Groove uses. There are some good ideas here.

“We’re always trying out new ways to improve conversions. We’ll tweak copy. Add landing pages. Include more CTAs. And when we’ve figured out what works…what customers respond best to…and what moves conversion rates as high as possible… We automate the hell out of it. Autoresponders are at the center of this entire operation.”

7-Step Process for Systemizing Your Business

7-step process for systemizing your business.
“David Jenyns is the author of SYSTEMology, host of the Business Systems Simplified podcast and a serial business owner.”

“Turn an early startup success into a repeatable process that can scale with you and your business. Because if you don’t have systems, you don’t have a business. Period.”

This is a good interview on the importance of creating systems in your business so that it can run without you. Another benefit is that businesses with well-designed systems are much easier to sell, because they are not so reliant on the founder.
